June 15 Announcements
A Thank You: Thanks to all who contributed to the success of the shower for BABIES ALL OVER THE WORLD! About 18 women attended, played games, (many found items in their purses they had forgotten about) enjoyed refreshments, and donated useful and darling baby items. Many who were unable to attend also donated gifts. We are off to a great start for our fall Baby Care Kits!
Celebration of Life: The family of Margot Jacobs invites Bethany members to a celebration of her life on Tuesday, June 20 at noon. The celebration will take place at Faye Bainbridge Park in the hillside picnic shelter near the exit. All are welcome to attend.
Root Beer Float Weekend: This summer Bethany will have a few special fellowship hours after worship services. First up is Root Beer Float weekend! Pastor Paul will be serving up root beer floats after both the 5pm Saturday service on June 24th and the 10:00am Sunday service on June 25th. Watch the announcements for future special fellowship opportunities.
Scam Emails and Other Issues: Several of you have called the office to let us know that you received a suspicious text that appeared to come from Pastor Paul. Please know that Pastor Paul, Pastor Erin or Debbie would never email or text you to ask for money, gift cards or a favor. If you receive one of these emails or texts, you should report it as junk and delete it. If you receive an email or text from one of us and aren’t sure whether it is legitimate, don’t hesitate to call the office to ask! In addition, some of you may be getting an error message when you email the office that your email was not delivered even though the emails are getting through. Debbie has contacted the email platform IT desk to try and resolve the issue.
A New Doorbell: To increase the security for staff or volunteers who may be working in the building alone, we have installed a new electronic doorbell. If you come to the church during office hours, or to meet a staff member outside of office hours, and the front door is locked, press the button located in the lower half of the electronic doorbell for assistance.
Summer Cleaning: We will be taking some time this summer to clean up and organize the lower level of the church. We anticipate a number of items that might be donated to the Rotary Auction as well as a truck load or two that will go to the transfer station. If you have a truck and/or a nice strong back, would you be willing to help with our summer clean-up efforts? If so, contact Debbie in the office for more details.
Altar Flowers: The altar flowers this weekend are given by Mabel Keeney in honor of Mabel’s and Ray’s 75th wedding anniversary.
Prayers are Requested: for Harry Wetzler as he continues to recover from a serious bicycle accident; for Benay Nordby as she recovers from knee surgery; for Evan Stoll as he continues his dialysis treatments after a successful medical procedure on Monday; for Noreen Sievertson as she recovers from surgery.
