January 25 Announcements
Pastor Paul’s Last Sunday: This Sunday we celebrate the completion of Pastor Paul's ministry at Bethany with his final worship service and a great big retirement party. There'll be music and laughter and time to let Pastor Paul know what he has meant to the Bethany community.
Lunch is a potluck Taco Bar! Bethany and the Fellowship Committee will provide beverages, tortillas (flour and corn), rice and all the desserts. Here is a guide for what you can bring. If your last name begins with:
A through F --- Protein (cooked chicken, ground or shredded beef, cheese, beans,
meat substitute, etc.
G through N—Condiments (salsa, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, etc.)
O through Z – Veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, olives, etc.)
IMPORTANT: Please bring all food ready to serve (pre-cooked, chopped, and in a dish to place directly on the table)
During the party, we would like to give him a basket of “Memories”, thoughts written by members of the congregation. These can be shared moments with him that are fond, hilarious, meaningful in some way. You may write these in advance to bring on January 28 and cards also will be available for your use that day.
No Saturday Evening Service: Please note that there will not be a 5pm service on Saturday so that we may all worship together at Pastor Paul’s last service.
2024 Annual Meeting: The Bethany 2024 Annual Meeting will be on Sunday, February 4th at 11:00am in fellowship hall. The agenda for the Annual Meeting will include passing a 2024 budget, approving the 2023 Annual Meeting minutes and election of 2024 council members and 2024 nominating committee members. Please watch for an email this weekend with links to the materials for the Annual Meeting.
Altar Flowers: The altar flowers this weekend are given in celebration of Pastor Paul’s retirement.
Prayers are requested: for Marcy Daley and the Daley family as they mourn the death of Wayne.
