July 13 Announcements
Baptism this Sunday: We are very pleased to announce that Heather Lynn Uptagrafft will be baptized at the 10am service this Sunday, July 16. The Uptagrafft family started attending Bethany several months ago and you may have seen big sister Vera participating in the children’s message on Sundays. Parents Kim and Andrew are excited to be sharing this important event in Heather’s life with the Bethany community.
Summer Cookout: Plan now to attend the 5pm service this Saturday. July 22nd and stay for a cookout! Bethany will provide burgers, hot dogs, and chips. You are invited to bring a side dish or dessert to round out the fare. Those who attend Sunday morning worship are welcome to come for the cookout and enjoy this time with the Saturday folks.
Donations to Helpline: Food pantry donations from Bethany to Helpline House are always appreciated. Included in the latest non-perishable donations was a contribution by Megan Kennedy and her husband, Jonathan from their garden (kale!). The Helpline House volunteers were grateful for the fresh produce and look forward to more when the Bethany Garden is ready to be harvested. Contributions from the Bethany Garden will be made to Helpline House and Fishline in Poulsbo in the coming weeks. Non-perishable donations can be dropped off in the basket located as you enter the narthex.
Donation Received: A donation was received in the mail through National Financial Services LLC that did not indicate the name of the donor. If you made a recent donation through National Financial Services LLC, please confirm the amount with Debbie in the office so that the donation can be properly posted to your giving statement.
Sad News to Share: The Bethany office recently learned of the death of Dorothy Webb on June 16. Dorothy was much-loved and a member of this congregation until moving to Seattle to be closer to her family. Please keep her daughters Pam Driscoll and Linda Elfert in your prayers.
Bainbridge Pride: The annual Bainbridge Pride Festival will take place this Saturday, July 15 at Waterfront Park. Bethany will have a table at the event so stop by to say hello and show your support. As a “Reconciling in Christ” congregation, we welcome people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions, and are committed to a community of racial equity.
Blood Drive at Bethany: There are still appointments available for the Bloodworks Northwest blood drive at Bethany for tomorrow, Friday, July 14. If you are an eligible donor, please consider scheduling an appointment. Blood donations are especially important during the summer months. To schedule an appointment, visit https://www.bloodworksnw.org/
Altar Flowers: The altar flowers this weekend are given by Claire and Marty Dasler in celebration of their wedding anniversary.
Prayers are Requested: for Evan Stoll as he recovers from a stroke; for Jan Thrun as she regains her strength after a medical emergency; for Myrna Johnson’s son Ben who underwent heart surgery on Tuesday in Seattle.
