November 24 Announcements

Thanksgiving Eve Service Tonight: Our Thanksgiving Eve service is tonight at 7pm. This service will include a lovely Thanksgiving litany and special music by the Bethany Choir.

Stewardship Packets: Packets with 2022 stewardship materials have been mailed. Please use the addressed envelope included in the packet to return your pledge card and time-and-talent survey as soon as possible so that the church council can begin to formulate a 2022 budget. Pledge Cards and Time-and-Talent surveys are also available on the table entering the sanctuary.

Advent at Bethany: Advent begins this Sunday, November 28th. Bethany will once again be making advent yule logs. Plan to come for Sunday morning worship and stay after for refreshments and yule log making! Children will be released from worship after the children’s message to make advent logs for their families. And plan now to join us after worship on December 12 for some caroling to bring cheer to some of our home-bound members. In addition, Advent devotionals and calendars are available for you to pick up on the table as you enter the sanctuary.

Our Christmas Tree: A huge thank you to Karen Selvar, of Bainbridge Island Farms and Suyematsu Family Farm for donating the Christmas tree that will grace our Sanctuary. We encourage you to visit Bainbridge Island Farms on Manzanita Road if you are looking for a live tree as a way of thanking Karen for her generous donation.

Christmas Poinsettias: The Altar Guild will be decorating the sanctuary with beautiful poinsettias again this year and welcomes your donations to help cover the cost. Please consider making a donation in honor or memory of someone special in your life. Envelopes for the special donations will be available from the ushers or on the table as you enter the sanctuary.

Donations for Martha & Mary: Martha & Mary is accepting holiday gifts people can purchase for their residents. The three items they are collecting this year are wall calendars, nonskid socks and fleece throws (i.e, lap blankets.) Items can be dropped by Martha and Mary in Poulsbo or brought to the Bethany office.

Gift Cards for Seniors: Helpline House is collecting gift cards to give to Bainbridge Island seniors during the holiday season. Pastor Paul challenged us to provide 25 gift cards and we have met that challenge! Thank you to all who generously donated gift cards. The office will continue to collect gift cards in the amount of $25 from four local vendors (Eagle Harbor Book Store, Amazon, Town & Country, and Safeway) until December 7.

Altar Flowers: The altar flowers are provided by the Altar Guild in celebration of Thanksgiving.

Prayers are Requested for: Linnea Chu’s niece, Kimberly who has been diagnosed with aggressive metastatic breast cancer; Wayne Richmond who continues to recover from pneumonia.
