FFF focuses on LWF assembly in Namibia

Good morning, everyone,

Today’s the day for FFF, starting with a delicious potluck at noon and followed by a presentation by Dave and Trish Siburg on the Lutheran World Federation assembly in Namibia. I can’t wait. Join me today.

The photo accompanying this piece is of three women at the assembly, which I also attended. They had sewn costumes based on the Namibian flag. Namibians have enormous pride in their country, and you see expressions like this all over the place, and not just in special settings like this.

Robes, robes and more robes Sunday

Good morning,

I’m back after some time out due to acute bronchitis.

Here are some endearing scenes from the Sunday school portion of the worship service this past Sunday, with the youngsters joining the current choir members in robes. What fun. Look to the bulletin board in the fellowship hall for more images.

Also from last Sunday, here’s a photo of Barbara and David Swartling sharing stories from the Bible with the Sunday schoolers.

The installation of the windows in the fellowship hall and kitchen continues. We’re moving most activities out of the hall this week, and that will include the presentation portion of FFF, which takes place tomorrow. We’ll have that in the sanctuary.

Speaking of FFF, Dave and Trish Siburg will share about their experiences attending the Lutheran World Federation assembly last May in Namibia. This coming Sunday, I’ll be doing an adult-education hour on the state of the Lutheran church in Namibia, having visited our church partners there last May. I invite you to come.
