As part of the Children’s Christmas Program during worship on Sunday, Dec. 10, we are asking people at Bethany to contribute items to four nonprofits. We’re calling it “Fill the Manger.” At this top of this website, click on “Fill the Manger.” You’ll see suggested items to bring Dec. 10 from two local food banks, Lutheran World Relief and Compass Housing Alliance.

It was all excitement and anticipation yesterday as a volunteer crew, mainly from the Altar Guild, added decorations in the sanctuary, narthex and living room in preparation for Advent and Christmas. Helping yesterday were Alice McCain, Barbara Michael, Gail Christensen, Myrna Johnson, Cindy Heine and Vickie, to name a few. Here are some images. Longtime main organizer Ruth Bartunek reminds us that the joyful work is hardly done. The tree will be set up at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20. The lights go on at 2 p.m. that same day. The decorations are added at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22. Please contact Ruth if you can help at 206-842-1454. Thank you.
