Northwest Washington Bishop Kirby Unti is retiring and all of us are being asked to identify characteristics we would like to see in a new leader that oversees Bethany and other churches in northwestern Washington state. A family’s survival in war, upheaval recounted

“Antonia’s War: An Escape from Estonia to America,” is our featured book for December in the Bethany library, and also is available on Amazon and at Eagle Harbor Book Co. for about $8. Truitt’s mother, Antonia Annus, lived through World War I, the Russian Revolution, a war for independence in Estonia and World War II. She and her family ultimately came to America.
