Bethany passes 2020 budget at annual meeting

Good morning again,

Bethany conducted its annual meeting last Sunday, and about 65 people attended. The group passed a $417,969 budget for 2020, and enthusiastically approved the resolution below honoring our counters and financial secretary. Here are some images. Minutes of the meeting are posted in the hallway, or they can be sent to you.

Resolution in Honor of Those Who we Can Count Upon
Bethany Lutheran Church Annual Meeting
Jan. 26, 2020

Whereas, Kristi Sutton, Jennie Harris, Barbara Michael and Carolyn Weiss have for years faithfully served as behind-the scenes volunteers during financial counting and accounting; and

Whereas, Kristi Sutton does her work quietly and without fanfare, often in a vacated church, due to the late hour; and

Whereas, Jennie, Barbara, and Carolyn each Tuesday count the offerings from the previous weekends, doing so with accuracy and a good spirit; and

Whereas, at times these counting duties can involve “noisy offerings” consisting of hundreds and hundreds of coins; therefore,

Be it resolved, that we the people of Bethany Lutheran Church, Bainbridge Island, Wash., recognize and celebrate the spirit and ministry of Kristi, Barbara, Jennie and Carolyn, and today bestow upon them the title of “Those Who Bethany Can Count On.”

The art of collage shared at Bethany

Good Monday morning, all.

Thanks to retired college educator Fred Truitt for teaching so many of us the art of collage this past Saturday night. All ages learned about the technique, which followed a potluck. By all accounts, it was a warm and inviting respite from these dark days of winter. Some images from the evening are below. Thanks, Allison Pringle, for your camera work.
