Fall Newsletter: The fall Life Together newsletter is ready for your reading pleasure. Click here or pick up a copy in the narthex.
Rally Day: Come next Sunday, September 10th when we will celebrate Rally Day! Plan to bring your favorite main dish, side dish or dessert to share at a potluck following worship. During the potluck there will be information tables for everyone to explore how they might get involved at Bethany in the upcoming program year. So that we might all worship together at the 10am service on Rally Day, there will be no 5pm service on Saturday, September 9th.
Bible Study in September: The Rachel Circle Bible Study group will meet on Tuesday, September 6 at 10am. The Women’s Bible Study & Book group will meet on Monday, September 11 at 9:30am. The Men’s Bible Study group will meet on Tuesday, September 12 at 8:00am. See the fall Life Together newsletter for more details.
Altar Guild: The Altar Guild will meet at noon on Wednesday, September 7 for a brown bag lunch and meeting. The Altar Guild welcomes new members. See the fall Life Together newsletter for more information.
Receiving New Members: Bethany will be receiving new members on Sunday, September 24th. Please let Pastor Paul or Pastor Erin know if you are interested in being received as members that morning.
LWR School Kit Update: We are very grateful for the generous donations of school supplies. We hope to fill 75 backpacks and could especially use: 70-pg spiral notebooks, pencil sharpeners, ballpoint pens and blunt nose child scissors. Please note – spiral notebooks must be 70-page notebooks. Any extras received will be kept for next year. Thank you from the Rachel Circle!
Bethany Endowment Fund Grants: The Bethany Endowment Committee will be accepting grant applications for the 2023 distribution cycle beginning September 1st. Application forms are available on the table in the narthex. They can also be downloaded from our website. Completed applications can be dropped off in the office or sent by email as an attachment.
Bethany is Hiring: Bethany’s long-time bookkeeper, Ric Becker has given notice. We are grateful to Ric for his many years of dedicated service. Ric has graciously offered to continue until we find our next bookkeeper, and to help that person get up to speed. Click here to see a position description for the part-time position. CROP Walk 2023: Please mark your calendars for the CROP Walk to End Hunger, which this year takes place on Sunday, October 1st at 2:00pm. Pastor Paul wants all to note that this year there is neither a Seahawks or a Packers football game that day (and the Mariners World Series game will most likely be in the evening). So come and walk with us. Every step and every donation help to end hunger.
Blood Drive at Bethany: Bloodworks Northwest will be back at Bethany on September 7th and 8th. For those of you that might have given when Bloodworks Northwest For more information or to schedule a donation appointment, visit www.bloodworksnw.org.
Altar Flowers: The altar flowers this weekend are given by Marlene and Al Orwiler in celebration of their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Prayers are Requested: for Helen Stoll and her family as they mourn the death of Evan; for Jan Thrun who will be undergoing a cardioversion procedure to address her irregular heart rhythm.
