Blue quilt from Bethany offered as Compass Housing Alliance auction item
Here is the quilt that Bethany Lutheran Church is donating to the Compass Housing Alliance Annual Auction and Gala, taking place Saturday, March 18, in Seattle. It's a lovely assemblage of blues and greens. When I look at it, it gives me hope that spring really will come, at some point. The quilt was made by the quilters here at Bethany, who meet every Tuesday to make dozens and dozens of quilts throughout the year. Twice a year, the quilts are boxed up and sent to Lutheran World Federation's warehouse in Baltimore. From there, they are shipped to the most destitute corners of the world, bringing with them a modicum of comfort.
