Rick Steves joins church leaders for hunger screening

Good Wednesday morning to you.

ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton and the Rev. Dan Rift, director of ELCA World Hunger, will join travel host Rick Steves for a special screening and benefit on hunger in October.

Titled “Hunger and Hope: Lessons from Ethiopia and Guatemala,” the free screening will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196^th St. SW, Lynnwood. The trio will hold a question-and-answer panel. For more information and to register, go to hunger-and-hope.eventbrite.com.

Seattle Dogs and tie-dye: Bethany celebrates summer

Good Monday morning,

Some 40 people spanning three generations took part in Saturday's Summer Fellowship Night after worship.

The tie-dye activity was a big hit, and grandfather Lynn Nordby was on hand to help grandson Mangus with the dyeing. So was the food, the veteran hospitality couple Carol and Ron Fenner giving us Seattle hotdogs, with grilled onions.

Most of all, we enjoyed each other. Here are some images.
