Frauds, scams and imposters: Learn how to protect yourself

Hi again,

Do not miss this week's FFF at noon Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Bethany.

AARP fraud-prevention specialist Bill Trilsch of Bremerton, pictured,  will share useful hands-on tips for protecting yourself. A significant number of Bethany members have been the victim of scam artists, so this is your chance to get savvy.

Topics will include:
- Latest fraud trends and behaviors:
- Identification of basic “Imposter" phone scams
- Email scams,
- Credit-card fraud,
- Investment fraud,
- Phone or utilities fraud,
- Bogus job opportunities,
- Persuasion tactics used by con artists, and
- Prevention strategies to stay safe

Participants will be furnished with handouts to study at home. A potluck will precede the presentation. Sign up on the bulletin board. See you there.
