Good Friday: Pastor Paul journeys from Bethany to Poulsbo

Good Friday to you all,

Pastor Paul offers these images that he took in his journey from Bethany to Martha and Mary in Poulsbo on Wednesday, along with his observations.

Beginning my walk with a smile.

I wish it were full of children and teachers.

Waiting for gardens ... and for neighbors.

An empty ballfield.

Salmon can't find streams anymore.

So many people to thank.

Sometimes we move too fast. Slow down for children.

It's best when we travel together.

Trillium, a sign of the Trinity, a sign of spring.

Making room for the diversity of God's creation.

Looking forward to the Grand re-opening.

Beauty!

Local produce ... delivered?

A very sad sign halfway through a 15-mile walk.

This is a "nurse" log, a dead tree that now feeds new trees.

Unwelcomed litter.

Lovely!

Sometimes beauty needs some help.

Not a baaaad daaaay!

No comment necessary.

A bridge that connects people and communities.

A face mask in a ditch - double sadness.

Our Suquamish neighbors have much to teach us.

When I see a house, any house, I wonder how the people are doing today.

The promise of a garden.

Seekers produces our worship services!

An empty playground.

A cross by the road, marking a sad event.

Our Poulsbo partners in worship and witness.

A Christmas (?), Easter (?) Tree. Makes me smile.

A place of welcome, in memory of someone who died.

Please join in the Lord's Prayer today at noon

Greetings people of Bethany and friends,

Elizabeth Eaton, presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, in conjunction with church leaders throughout the world, has asked us to pause at noon today, Wednesday, local time to pray the Lord's Prayer.

This stands as our unified response as the COVID-19 virus spreads.

Pastor Paul also encourages us to pray the Lord's Prayer forward, on the hour, as you choose.

Thank you,

Rachel Pritchett, office administrator
