Bethany joyfully conducts sendoff for Tamara Siburg

Good Wednesday morning, all,

Here are some images from this past Sunday, when the Bethany community said so long for now to Tamara Siburg, about to enter Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Tamara was given a Bible, books, a pictorial directory and wrapped in a quilt. In theses images taken by Allison Pringle, the children wrap Tamara in a quilt from the Rachel Circle quilters. A wonderful potluck was held afterward. Tamara will jump into some Greek studies this summer. She promised to be back to visit.

Nordby retires

Longtime Bethany member Lynn Nordby has retired from a long career in city management.

At the age of 25, Nordby became manager of the city of Enumclaw. In 1991 after Bainbridge Island voted to become a city, it hired Norby as it’s first city manager, a post he held until 2003. Since then, he was worked as a consultant to cities. He and wife Benay have three grown children and will be married 47 years on July 31. Nordby most recently served as the president of the Bethany Council in 2016 and 2017 and sings in the Bethany choir.
