Sunday's adult eduation tackles ethics and war

Good Thursday morning to you,

On Sunday at 10:40 a.m., ethicist, author and instructor David L. Perry will lead an adult-education hour on ethics and war. The discussion will be based on a chapter of his book titled "Partly Cloudy: Ethics in War, Espionage, Covert Action and Interrogation.” Perry has allowed us to copy that chapter, and you can pick it up in the Bethany library. I also can email you a copy. This promises to be the start of a very complex inquiry, and we invite everyone to come. The discussion will be in the sanctuary.

Save the date for a cruise with friends

Hello Bethany community,

The afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 6, we will enjoy an Argosy cruise in Elliott Bay with our friends from the Church of Steadfast Love, part of Compass Housing Alliance in Seattle.

This will be our annual time together that will include food, a non-alcoholic bar and best of all fellowship with our friends across the water. Later on in the year, I'll put up a signup sheet, but for now mark your calendars.
