Some 50 people enjoy smorgasbord

Hi all,

The Advent spirit of anticipation abounds here at Bethany and that was particularly true yesterday when some 50 people took part in our annual smorgasbord, a potluck feast that featured turkey, ham, and Scandinavian desserts. The Bethany preschoolers sang for us, and all sang Christmas carols. Carlton Anderson sang a solo in Norwegian. He and his family lived there for 16 years during his civil-engineering career, when he worked constructing oil rigs in the North Sea.

Smorgasbord is at noon Wednesday

Good Tuesday to you,

We await the arrival of the Hometown Band at 7 this evening, when it will perform its free holiday concert. Do come.

And also put on your festive gear for the Bethany smorgasbord, taking place at noon tomorrow, Wednesday, in the fellowship hall. Besides traditional food fare, we'll enjoy a visit by the preschool and will do some caroling, as well.

See you here.
