Weekly Announcements - June 17
Here is what is happening this weekend and beyond at Bethany:
Worship in June: Continued 10am worship in a drive-in setting. As the weather improves, bring a lawn chair to sit by your car. Our worship leader this Sunday is Pastor Kristy Daniels.
Worship in July and August: The Sunday morning 10am service will take place ON THE LAWN west of the church, weather permitting. Bring a lawn chair, a blanket, or remain in your car as we experience worship together in the beauty of summertime on Bainbridge Island. Coffee hour will also make a return on Sunday, July 4th! Pastor Paul will host the outdoor coffee hour. Outdoor coffee hour will continue throughout the summer if there is interest in hosting. Bethany will provide coffee, juice and lemonade along with disposable cups and napkins. Hosts will provide light snacks and set up/clean up. Please call Debbie in the office to sign up for a Sunday in July or August.
Saturday Evening Worship: Periodically throughout July and August there will be a 5pm Saturday worship service in the sanctuary. The next Saturday evening worship service will be on July 3rd. These will be socially distanced worship services with no congregational singing, but will include prayer, scripture, a sermon and holy communion. People attending indoor worship are expected to be vaccinated, and there will be no fellowship hour following the service in the summer.
Altar Flowers: The altar flowers this Sunday are given in memory of Carol Johnson.
Memorial Service: A service to celebrate the life of Carol Johnson will take place on Saturday, June 19 at 1pm on the lawn. All are welcome.
Pastoral Care in June: Pastor Sonja Selboe will be available for pastoral care calls while Pastor Paul is away (June 4 - June 26). Pastor Sonja can be reached at 360-297-1779.
Prayers are extended for: the life of Carol Johnson who died on June 6th; for Carol's children Mark, Dana and Leanne as they mourn the loss of their mother; for Jeff Jensen, Dave Christensen and Tony Meza as they continue to heal following surgery; all the fathers in the Bethany community as they celebrate their special day.
