Quilts going on the pews for Quilt Weekend
Good morning,
It is very busy here this morning, with all hands on deck hauling quite a few rolled-up quilts from downstairs to the sanctuary, where they now are being arranged in preparation for Quilt Sunday. The Baby Kit brigade comes in Friday to assemble kits, which will be added to the display in the sanctuary. During worship on Saturday and Sunday, the items will be blessed. Then in coming days they are packed up here at Bethany. Joe Sommerseth then ties them in the back of his pickup truck, and drives them to Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church of Ballard, where they are trucked with many others to the Baltimore headquarters of Lutheran World Relief. Eventually, they are shipped all over the world, to bring comfort and supply necessities to those who need it most. That's Carol Fenner coming up the stairs.
