October 31 Announcements
Celebrating All Saints
Again this weekend we welcome Rachel Pritchett as worship leader and preacher. Rachel is currently completing lay leadership formation with our Northwest Synod. We will be celebrating All Saints at both services this weekend. You are invited to bring a photo or memento of a family member, friend or pet that you love but no longer see as we celebrate the saints who have gone before us. During the service there will be an opportunity to bring your photo forward and light a candle in remembrance.
Bible Study in November
The Rachel Circle Bible Study group will meet on Tuesday, November 5 at 10:00am. The Women’s Book and Bible Study group will meet on Monday, November 11 at 9:30am. The Men’s Bible Study group will meet on Tuesday, November 12 at 8:30am. All Bible Study groups meet in fellowship hall.
A Thank You from Rachel Circle
Thank you to all who contributed towards the shipping of our quilts and kits. This year we will be shipping 74 quilts, 55 baby kits, and 102 school kits to Lutheran World Relief to help those in need! A special thank you to Joe & Linda Sommerseth and Stan Wiegman for loading all the boxes and transporting them to Seattle.
Chili Cookoff a Hit!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the "Big Bethany Chili Cook-Off" on October 19. Eight chefs shared their best recipes with a narrow victory earned by Pastor Erin with a delicious vegetarian dish. She will have her name proudly displayed on the church trophy—until the next event where a winner is declared. Thank you to "Off the Grid" for providing a number of fun tunes, to the those who helped set up and clean up and to everyone who brought yummy side dishes and desserts. A special thank you, Kathy Dudgeon, for the beautiful poster and for the trophy name plate. And finally, to all who tasted and voted--you made it a great evening.
