October 3 Announcements

Blessing of the Animals
Everyone is welcome to bring their pets on Sunday, October 6 for a blessing in honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron of the environment and animals. Pr. Erin will be here to bless your beloved pets from 3:00-4:00pm. There’ll be treat bags for dogs, cats, and people too!

October Sunday School News!
October's lessons begin this Sunday with Noah's Ark. Our children will learn about the big flood and God's promise to his children. On October 13 they will hear the Story of Moses. Mr. Science (aka Doug Olson) will be here on October 20 with a lesson about Moses and the Burning Bush. We will finish the month of October with Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors on October 27. Mrs. Dudgeon loves having your children in Sunday School and is honored to be one of their teachers.

October Bible Study
Doug Olson will lead the Men's Bible Study group on Tuesday, October 8 at 8:30am. Doug will lead us in conversation about how moments of time can change history. Most recently, the pandemic (which felt to some of us longer than a moment!) altered the course of history and we're just now processing its impact. There will be a lot to talk about, including scripture references to ponder as they relate to our experiences. The Women’s Book and Bible Study group will meet at 9:30am on Monday, October 14 to continue their discussion on Rachel Held Evan’s book Inspired.

Youth Group Invites Everyone to a Kit Assembly Party!
Please join us on Sunday, October 13 from 3:00-5:00pm in Fellowship Hall where we'll be helping to stuff backpacks for Lutheran World Relief. A generous grant from Thrivent will provide pizza for us as we work together on this worthy service project. As this is our regularly scheduled Youth Group meeting time, we'll meet to complete this service project and then if there's time afterwards, we'll convene for some fellowship and maybe a fun game. Giant Jenga anyone?
