October 2 Announcements

2026 Annual Giving Campaign
Your Stewardship Committee reminds you that our “Affirmation and Celebration” campaign continues. Thank you for your strong response! We all soon will receive 2026 Commitment Cards in the mail. Please pray about the amount you are willing to give in 2026. Secondly and separately, consider a continued giving to our “Make Bethany Flush Again” appeal. Thank you!

Help Make Bethany Flush Again
As noted above, please continue to give to our "Make Bethany Flush Again" effort so we can replenish the funds used to repair our church after the septic damage from tree roots that grew into our pipes. We are grateful for the generous response to date, but still have more to raise. Special envelopes are available in the narthex on the table next to the “Make Bethany Flush Again” poster. Please place envelopes in the offering plate. Please write "Emergency Building Repair" in the memo line.

October Bible Study
The Rachel Circle Bible study group will meet on Tuesday, October 7 at 10:00am in fellowship hall followed by quilting. The Women’s Book & Bible study group will meet on Monday, October 13 at 9:30am in fellowship hall. They will be discussing Dan Erlander’s Manna and Mercy.

Worship in October
We welcome back our own Rachel Pritchett who will lead worship this Sunday, October 5. Pastor Martin and Shelly are making their way across the country and hope to join us for worship next Sunday. Pastor Kristy will be leading worship on the 12th but we hope everyone will come and welcome Pastor Martin and Shelly. Pastor Martin will be celebrating his first worship service at Bethany on October 19th.

Serve the World Sunday!
Please join us on October 19 for "Serve the World" Sunday. It will be the first day that Pastor Martin is here to preach. He will be blessing the new batch of quilts, the baby kits and personal care kits that will be sent to needy families. After the service We will assemble school backpacks for Lutheran World Relief in the Fellowship Hall with pizza supported by Thrivent. Please bring a salad to enjoy with a slice or two! Music will be provided by "Off the Grid" with possibly an extra singer or musician or two. We want to take this opportunity to welcome Pastor Martin and Shelly to our congregation. His formal installation will take place at a future date.

Donations towards Shipping Costs
In preparation for blessing the quilts and kits and sending them off, the Rachel Circle is asking for donations to help with the shipping costs. The cost for delivering our donations overseas range from $1.80 for fabric kits to $3.10 for baby kits. Look for a donation envelope in your bulletin or on the table in the narthex. Please note Rachel Circle or LWR Shipping in the memo field on a check. Any amount is welcome and all donations go to LWR to cover the shipping costs.

Debbie Out of the Office
Debbie continues to be away on her long-planned extended vacation and won’t return to the office until Monday, October 13. While she was able to prepare announcements in advance for the last couple of weeks, this wasn’t realistic  for the third week away. Accordingly there will not be electronic or printed announcements next week.
