Please welcome our guest pastor This Sunday, The Rev. Sigi Helgeson.
Pastor Sigi served in the Southwest Washington Synod for many years, most recently at Family of God Lutheran in Bremerton. She joins us Sunday as Pastor Martin participates in this weekend's combined Bethany and Vinland men's retreat.
Mission Endowment Fund Grant Applications Due MAY 24!
The deadline for submitting an application for a grant from the Bethany Mission Endowment Fund is approaching, and funds remain available for distribution! Applications must be submitted with supporting information to Bethany’s office by Pentecost Sunday (May 24). Applications and information regarding Endowment Fund grants are available on the table outside the sanctuary. 
Adult Forum June 7th
Bethany Lutheran Church is one of 13 designated island wide emergency Hubs.
Bainbridge Prepares is hosting a community wide open house in our Fellowship Hall on Sunday June 7th from 1-4 pm.
Come see emergency presentations and available emergency kits for food, water purification systems, medical first aid kits
and much more.
COBI Planning Commission Approves Finch Green Affordable Housing Development &
Public Hearing Set for May 19 at 1:00 PM!!
On Thursday, April 30, the Planning Commission of the City of Bainbridge Island endorsed the Finch Green affordable housing project, consisting of 22 units of affordable housing on the property of Bethany Lutheran Church! This means that the next step in the permitting process will be a public hearing before a Hearing Examiner now scheduled for Tuesday May 19 at 1:00 PM via Zoom! Stay tuned for more information regarding the upcoming hearing and next steps as the permitting process moves forward!!
NW Washington Synod Gathering – Life in God’s Garden: Seeds of Generosity. Saturday, May 30, 9 – 5.
Please consider joining our synod siblings for this full day to celebrate, learn, and connect around the theme of generosity. This is generosity rooted in God's abundant love for creation. Generosity of time, space, talents, and money. Generosity of our hearts.
We will be gathering at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood & the new Lynnwood Neighborhood Center. We will center our time in worship at 9am with song, communion, preaching by Bishop Shelley, and gratitude and blessing for our Synod VP Kay Edgerton who will be concluding her term this summer. Louise Urness Memorial Service
The Urness family is planning a Memorial for their Mother, Louise for June 27th. Time will be early afternoon with exact time to follow.
Assisting Ministers in Worship
If you are interested in helping lead worship as an Assisting Minister, Pastor Martin will hold a brief introduction/training gathering after on Sunday, June 14th, right after worship. If you want to know more about what being an AM entails, chat with Pastor Martin. 
Seattle PRIDE Parade
Members of the NWW Synod will be marching in the Seattle PRIDE parade on Sunday, June 28. We are limited to 200 people. If you are interested in taking part in this, please let Bethany’s office know.
Women’s Retreat
SAVE THE DATE... We will return to Pilgrim Firs again this year, Friday to Sunday, October 9-11. Women from Vinland Lutheran will join us for a fun and interesting weekend. Cost and theme are still to be determined. We hope you can join us! 
Helpline House Food Donations
The Little Red Wagon near the entrance is there to highlight our ministry to our neighbors living with food scarcity. Each first Sunday, our Sunday School will bring up our offerings of food as we bring the financial mission support offerings.
Lay Eucharist Ministry
We are looking for volunteers who would like to serve communion to at-home members as well as suggestions for at-home members who would like to be served. If interested, please contact the church office.
