February 13 Announcements
Saturday Evening Worship
After discussion with several of the Saturday evening worshippers and the Worship and Music Committee, we've decided to try something new! Beginning on March 12, we'll meet on Wednesday afternoons for worship from 12:30-1:30 in the Sanctuary followed by a time of fellowship in Fellowship Hall. We'll continue to worship on Saturday night for the remainder of February. Please note that we will not meet on March 5, Ash Wednesday, because of the Service of the Imposition of Ashes that evening.
Mystery Dinner at Bethany!
Everyone is welcome at our "Mystery on the High Seas" dinner on Saturday, March 1 at 6:00pm. Only a couple of characters are left if you want a specific role. Otherwise, please come and be part of a team to solve the mystery—no prep needed! The era is the 1920's so feel free to dress for the times if you like. "Off the Grid" will be playing some tunes from the time period. IMPORTANT! Please sign up on the bulletin board to let us know if you are coming. We have run out of food at two prior events and we want to avoid that! A salad/appetizer or finger food dessert (please no desserts that require a plate to help our kitchen crew) would be appreciated. A pasta dinner will be provided with meat, vegan and gluten-free options. Let us know if you would like to come and need babysitting.
Office Closed on Monday
The office will be closed on Monday in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday.
Rachel Pritchett Visit to Namibia
Please continue to pray for Rachel Pritchett while she again walks in loving accompaniment with her sisters and brothers in Namibia and Angola, as part of an ELCA visitation. Look for her report in an upcoming Living Lutheran. You can receive your free Living Lutheran subscription by contacting the office.
Ash Wednesday
The Service of the Imposition of Ashes will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary. Please join us for this contemplative service that commences our Lenten journey.
Day of Remembrance Community Clean-Up Day
Everyone is invited to participate in a Day of Remembrance Community Clean-Up at the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial. The Day of Remembrance commemorates February 19, 1942, the day President Franklin Delano Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 authorizing the internment of Japanese Americans. Organizations around the country observe the Day of Remembrance with solemn reflection and service. The observance at the Bainbridge Island memorial will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 10:00am-12 noon and include clippers, rakes, garden gloves and camaraderie.
