Bethany quilters never forget Compass Center in their work
Good Tuesday to you,
The quilters who meet here every Tuesday morning produce many, many dozens of quilts throughout the year, all bound to places in the world where warmth and comfort is needed most, through Lutheran World Relief (LWR).
But with that effort comes strict requirements from LWR on what patterns can be on the material - nothing political including flags, and so on. Someone donated enough nautical-themed cloth for three quilts, but the fabric had nautical flags, which are not allowed.
Not wanting to waste the material, the thrifty quilters made three quilts for the men and women at Compass Housing Alliance in Seattle. DeMar Sather, a Compass volunteer from Bethany, will likely deliver them.
Thanks Quilters,
- Rachel Pritchett, office administrator
