Blackberry Smoothies this Weekend!: Come to worship this Saturday or Sunday and be sure to stay for the fellowship hour. Pastor Paul will be peddling the bike and making blackberry smoothies for all after both services.
Vince Mattson’s 100th Birthday!: Vince Mattson turns 100 this Monday, August 7th! Let’s shower Vince with birthday cards to help him celebrate this momentous occasion. Bring your cards to worship this weekend or mail them to Vince at Madrona House Senior Living, 8800 Madison Ave N, Bainbridge Island WA 98110. We will make sure cards brought to Bethany get delivered to Vince.
August Bible Study: The Men’s Bible Study group will meet on Tuesday, August 8th at 8am. The Women’s Bible Study & Book Group will not meet in August. They will meet again on Monday, September 11th at 9:30am.
2nd Quarter Giving Statements: The 2nd quarter giving statements were mailed earlier this week. If you do not receive your statement by the weekend, please let Debbie in the office know and she will get a copy to you.
Holden Evening Prayer: Our next Holden Evening Prayer service will be on Saturday, August 12 at 5pm.
LWR School Kit Supplies: With the start of the school year around the corner, the school supplies sales are here! The Rachel Circle will be putting together School Kits for Lutheran World Relief over the next few weeks. When you are out and about (or online) to shop, please consider purchasing some of the items that will help school children around the world. More information about the LWR School Kits, including the list of needed items, can be found on the hallway bulletin board. Items purchased for the kits must be exactly as indicated on the list. For example, #2 pencils cannot be sharpened, crayons must be 16 or 24 count, spiral notebooks must be 70 sheets. If you still have a list from last year, please note that we will not need rulers this year.
Altar Flowers: The altar flowers this weekend are given by Hans-Thomas Richter in memory of his mother, Irma Richter.
Prayers are Requested: for Marlene Orwiler as she recovers from back surgery; Evan Stoll who is now at Martha and Mary recovering from his stroke; for Jan Thrun who is grateful to be back at home where she is slowly regaining her strength; for DeMar and Pat Sather who are transitioning to the Fieldstone community.
