A big thanks to Pinnacle for the new roof

The Bethany Council, at a regular meeting last night, thanked Pinnacle Roofing of Bainbridge Island for a job well done, on time and under budget. Over the past weeks, the company and its steadfast crew braved all types of brutal weather including ice and snow, along with frigid temperatures, to reroof the sanctuary. Day after day, the crew of six or so arrived at dawn and didn't quit until dusk to get the job done. When we had mid-day worship services, however, they were quick to pause their work, even without us asking them. We will miss seeing them, and we will be crafting a formal letter of thanks.

Replacing a shingle roof with one that is metal always is a big job. But Bethany's architect-designed roof has many angled surfaces and required intricate measuring and cutting. Double the challenge when you consider Bethany's steeple tower, which is tall and steep.

Pinnacle owner Brad Ybarra, when we made the final payment yesterday, told us to enjoy the roof. Let's take him up on that. If and when it ever stops raining, take a walk around the perimeter of the roof and take a look. Don't miss the steeple tower. I've posted a gallery of the work in progress on this site, under "Visuals" in the navigation bar.

Wow.
