BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Come join us for Rally Day, September 13th!
Rally Day has been our traditional return to Fall programming. This year we have a couple of extra events as well. During the worship service, we will be welcoming new members into the Bethany family. Please take an opportunity to meet them and welcome them, if you haven't already. After the service and before lunch, we will assemble 125 School Kits for Lutheran World Relief.  Last year went very fast with many hands along the assembly line. Lunch will be fried and grilled chicken with the congregation bringing sides and salads to share. This is a wonderful time to welcome back folks from their summer travels.

Sunday School begins again!
September 13th also starts the Fall Sunday School year. Mr. Science will be on hand to kick off our new year. Children are released to Sunday School after the Children’s Sermon with Pastor Martin. Ages 3 and up are welcome to join Kathy Dudgeon for a story, craft, and snack each Sunday.

Women’s Book & Bible Study Begins September 14th
Monday, September 14 begins a new program year together by reading, Jesus and the Disinherited, by Howard Thurman.

Special Council Meeting September 15 at 7pm

CROP Hunger Walk, Sept. 20
September 20 is the day to Walk for CROP! CROP Hunger Walks raise funds for Church World Service,
bringing hope, food, clothing, housing, education, and hygiene resources around the world.
During last winter’s atmospheric river Church World Service provided hotel vouchers for people flooded out of their homes.
You can donate or sign up to walk at Bethany Lutheran’s CROP Hunger Walk page at this link:

Very popular with students, for many years he taught an enlightening and often inspiring class on World Religions. Don't miss this informative opportunity!

Finch Green Project Drawings:
Thanks to the work of Tom Croker and David Swartling, we now have updated architect renderings for our Finch Green affordable housing project available for our perusal.
Located in the hallway and the Fellowship Hall, the drawings give a “bird’s-eye” view of how the new homes will fit in relationship to our existing structures.

Sanctuary Prayer Wall:
On the east wall of the Sanctuary, we have revived our Prayer Wall. The Wall is made up of stacked bricks & on the table you will find small pieces of paper.
Anytime during worship, please feel free to write your prayer concern on the paper and slip it into the wall.

Donations for Helpline Red Wagon!
Please bring your non-perishable food as well as cleaning and personal care products.
These last two categories are not part of SNAP benefits but are important to us all in daily life.
