BETHANY ANNOUCNEMENTS
Rally Day is This Sunday!!
After the service and before lunch, we will assemble 125 School Kits for Lutheran World Relief. Last year went very fast with many hands along the assembly line. Lunch will be fried and grilled chicken with the congregation bringing sides and salads to share. This is a wonderful time to welcome back folks from their summer travels.
& Sunday School begins again!
This Sunday also starts the Fall Sunday School year. Mr. Science will be on hand to kick off our new year. Children are released to Sunday School after the Children’s Sermon with Pastor Martin. Ages 3 and up are welcome to join Kathy Dudgeon for a story, craft, and snack each Sunday.
Women’s Book & Bible Study Begins September 14th
Monday, September 14 begins a new program year together by reading, Jesus and the Disinherited, by Howard Thurman.
Special Council Meeting September 15 at 7pm
Meeting will be regarding Finch Green issues and updates.
Adult Education Forum 26-27 Program Year Begins September 20!
On Sunday, September 20, following the service, the inaugural adult forum will be a presentation by Eric Hoffman on the faith tradition of Islam. Eric is a retired Bainbridge High School teacher. Very popular with students, for many years he taught an enlightening and often inspiring class on World Religions. Don't miss this informative opportunity!
CROP Hunger Walk, Sept. 20
$1=$4 for your CROP Hunger Walk donation! A Bethany member will match your donation to the Bethany CROP Hunger Walk Team up to $1000. In addition, a local community member matches all Bainbridge/North Kitsap CROP Hunger Walk donations up to $15,000. What a deal!
September 20 is the day to Walk for CROP! CROP Hunger Walks raise funds for Church World Service, bringing hope, food, clothing, housing, education, and hygiene resources around the world. During last winter’s atmospheric river Church World Service provided hotel vouchers for people flooded out of their homes. You can donate or sign up to walk at Bethany Lutheran’s CROP Hunger Walk page at this link: https://events.crophungerwalk.org/chw/team/bethany-lutheran-3
Chris Christensen will have walker envelopes on Sunday, Sept. 20. You can pick up an envelope to return the following Sunday, Sept. 27.
