‘On Awakenings’ Meeting held at Bethany
The 8am daily AA Meeting, On Awakenings, moved to Bethany as their meeting location last week. We want to welcome them to our Bethany family and are grateful to be able to be the host location for this recovery meeting.
LWR School Kit Supply Donations Needed Now!
Thanks to many generous contributors we have almost all the school supplies needed for our September 13 School Kit assembly. Thank you! Modified shopping lists showing what’s still needed are available in the tub in the narthex.
C'mon Aboard!
Join the bus(van) tour of Housing Resources Bainbridge properties this Sunday, August 23 You may see homes you never knew were part of HRB's mission. You will certainly see how homey and well-maintained they are. Soon there will be HRB homes on Bethany property - a long-held dream becomes reality! This is a great opportunity to see what built dreams look like. Sign up on the bulletin board. There are two time slots - one right after the church service and one a half hour later. See you on board!
Women’s Retreat
Please sign up ASAP for the retreat, Oct 9-11. You can attend the full weekend or Saturday only. Payment is due by September 14 and can be dropped in the collection plate (Be sure to write "Women's Retreat" in the memo line) or taken to the office. We will hear presentations about women across the decades who have contributed to the environmental movement, have time for crafts, walks, singing, dancing, games and great discussions. Consider reading Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery as there will be an opportunity for a book discussion lead by a Kay Gearlach from Vinland.

Please bring your non-perishable food as well as cleaning and personal care products. These last two categories are not part of SNAP benefits but are important to us all in daily life.
